The Remote Siren: Interrupt a Break-In from Anywhere

Every camera on the market sells you the same thing: a recording of a night that already went badly. RECAM now sells you the thirty seconds before that.

Triggering the remote siren from the RECAM live view

What It Is

Open the live view. If there’s someone in frame who shouldn’t be there, tap the siren. The phone you left at home starts wailing — straight through silent mode, whether you’re on the other side of the room or the other side of the world.

How It Works

The siren is a command, not a stream. You tap once, the trigger reaches the camera phone, and that phone plays a classic alarm wail through its own speaker. On Android, RECAM raises the alarm channel to maximum itself, so a muted phone still shouts; on an iPhone camera, it plays at the volume that phone is set to — leave it turned up. Tap again and it stops. If you don’t, it stops itself after five minutes — that’s the published ceiling on a single trigger, and it’s long past the point anyone stays to argue with it. No monitoring centre sees it, no operator calls you back about a false alarm. The only person it speaks to is the one in the room.

Why Noise Beats Footage

Deterrence is the part of home security nobody sells you. A recording is useful the morning after, to an insurer and maybe to the police. A siren is useful now. It takes away the two things an intruder came for: quiet, and time. Ring tells you who took it. This makes them leave without it.

The Honest Limits

It’s manual: RECAM will never fire the siren on its own off the back of a detection. You look at the feed, you decide, you tap. It’s one sound — a classic alarm wail, not a menu of emergency-vehicle impressions. It stops after five minutes per trigger; fire it again if you want more. And it is not a monitored alarm service: no control room sees it, no guards are dispatched. It’s your siren, in your house, fired by you.
