Purpose of the App

RECAM is a remote video monitoring application developed and published by FRENCHMOB. RECAM allows live video streaming from one device to another — iPhone, iPad, or Android phone or tablet, in any combination — end-to-end encrypted in transit using AES over a real-time UDP transport. It is available on the App Store for iOS and on Google Play for Android. It is designed for real-time monitoring of spaces such as:

  • Baby rooms (baby monitoring)
  • Pet watching
  • Home and apartment surveillance

RECAM also includes AI-powered features such as:

  • Human and animal detection
  • Facial coverage detection (e.g. covered mouth/nose)
  • Sound analysis (e.g. baby crying)

RECAM is not a medical or certified safety device and should be used as a supplementary tool only.

Data Storage

  • All live video streams in RECAM are end-to-end encrypted in transit using AES over a real-time UDP transport. They are established directly between devices when the network permits; otherwise they are forwarded through a relay operated by FRENCHMOB that transmits only encrypted packets it cannot decrypt, access, or store, and which keeps no logs. No live video is stored on RECAM servers.
  • Video recordings are only created when an event is detected (e.g., motion, AI-based trigger) or started manually by the user and are always stored locally on the streaming device (iPhone or Android).
  • RECAM servers cannot access, view, or listen to any private content. Video and video recordings are never stored on RECAM servers. The one exception is push-to-talk voice messages: each message is end-to-end encrypted with the camera’s own key, held on RECAM servers only as an unreadable file until it is played or for at most 24 hours, and then deleted.
  • The only data stored by RECAM servers is limited to operational metadata necessary to enable core app functions (e.g., device association, user labels).

Disclaimer and Usage

RECAM is provided as a supportive tool and is not a substitute for professional surveillance, medical-grade baby monitors, or security systems.

FRENCHMOB SAS and the owners of RECAM are not liable for:

  • Failure to detect events, movement, or sounds
  • Missed or delayed alerts
  • Health or safety incidents
  • Malfunctions or misuse
  • Damages from break-ins, fire, or emergencies

User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

  • Using RECAM in compliance with local laws, especially regarding video/audio surveillance
  • Informing individuals if monitoring or recording is taking place
  • Note: If you share access to a streaming device, recordings on that device may automatically become visible to the shared user. Access can be revoked at any time from within the app by the device owner.

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • FRENCHMOB SAS and the owners of RECAM shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages, including physical, material, or legal consequences, arising from the use or inability to use RECAM.

Intellectual Property

RECAM and all associated technologies, content, and design are the property of FRENCHMOB SAS or its licensors.

Subscription

RECAM Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, offered monthly or annually, cancellable anytime. It is offered through Apple's native in‑app subscription service on iOS and through Google Play's subscription service on Android.

  • Name & Length: RECAM Pro monthly – 1 month; RECAM Pro annual – 1 year
  • Price: $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year in the United States; €4.99 per month or €49.99 per year in euro-area countries; £4.99 per month or £44.99 per year in the United Kingdom; ¥600 per month or ¥7,000 per year in Japan. Prices vary by country and are always shown in the App Store or Google Play before you confirm a purchase.
  • Free trial: RECAM Pro annual starts with a 3-day free trial. Unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts automatically to a paid annual subscription. RECAM Pro monthly has no free trial. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple or Google and is generally limited to one free trial per account. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
  • Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple ID (App Store) or your Google account (Google Play) at confirmation of purchase — or, for RECAM Pro annual, when its free trial ends. The subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends. If the price changes, Apple or Google will notify you in advance where required, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
  • Manage: On iPhone or iPad, in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. On Android, in the Google Play Store app under Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions.

Your First Month: Free Detection Alerts

For one month from the day your RECAM profile is created, AI detection alerts are free: when the camera phone detects a person, a sound, or motion, the notification names what was detected. After that month, detection alerts require an active RECAM Pro subscription — without one you still receive a notification that something was detected, but not what it was.

This free month covers detection alerts only. It is not a free trial of RECAM Pro (the annual subscription’s 3-day free trial is described above): no subscription is started, charged, or cancelled by it, and no payment details are collected. The remote siren, push to talk, clip replay from anywhere, and sharing a camera with more than one viewer all require an active RECAM Pro subscription from the start, and are not included in the free month.

Cancellation & Refunds

Subscriptions can be canceled in Apple’s or Google Play’s subscription settings, depending on where you subscribed. Canceling stops the next renewal; RECAM Pro stays active until the end of the current paid period or free trial. Refund requests are handled by the store you purchased from: Apple (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204084) or Google (https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637).

Acknowledgement

This EULA is between you (“End User”) and FRENCHMOB SAS, not Apple Inc. or Google LLC. Neither Apple nor Google is responsible for RECAM or its content.

Scope of License

We grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use RECAM on any Apple-branded device you own or control, in accordance with Apple’s Usage Rules, and on any Android device you own or control, in accordance with the Google Play Terms of Service.

Maintenance & Support

FRENCHMOB SAS is solely responsible for maintenance and support of RECAM; neither Apple nor Google has any obligation to provide support.

Warranty and Store Refunds

If you obtained RECAM from the App Store and it fails to conform to any warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation. If you obtained RECAM from Google Play, refunds are handled by Google in accordance with the Google Play refund policy. All other losses are our responsibility.

Product Claims

We, not Apple or Google, will address any claims relating to RECAM or your possession and/or use of it, including product-liability, legal compliance and consumer-protection claims.

Third-Party Terms

You must comply with all applicable third-party terms when using RECAM (e.g. your wireless-data agreement).

Apple as Third-Party Beneficiary

Where you obtained RECAM from the App Store, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this EULA and may enforce it against you upon acceptance.
