PURPOSE OF THE APP
RECAM is a remote video monitoring application. RECAM allows encrypted live video streaming from one iPhone to another using Secure Reliable Transport protocol. It is designed for real-time monitoring of spaces such as:
- Baby monitoring.
- Pet watching.
- Home, apartment, pool, parking lot, garden surveillance.
RECAM also includes AI-powered features such as:
- Human and animal detection
- Facial coverage detection (e.g. covered mouth/nose)
- Sound analysis (e.g. baby crying)
RECAM is not a medical or certified safety device and should be used as a supplementary tool only.

HOW TO USE RECAM?
- Download the RECAM app from the App Store on both devices-- on your spare iPhone or iPad and also on your main one.
- Open the app on the one you want to use as a camera and follow the instructions as STREAMER / CAST mode.
- Open the app on the one you want to use as a monitor and follow the instructions as PLAYER / WATCH mode.
- The player app could scan the QR code from the streamer app.
- 👌 Enjoy the live video stream.
Setup the notifications you want from the camera one.
You can also use the app to monitor your home, office, or any other space.
You notice, no signup or account creation is required. You can start using the app right away.
All shared access is revokable at any time, by the owner of the camera device.
The camera owner can revoke all shared access at any time by opening Settings and tapping Revoke All Shared Access.
You can also revoke access for a specific player by tapping on the player name in the settings.
PRE-REQUISITES (TECHNICAL)
Camera device must be behind a regular Wi-Fi network
To set up port forwarding, your internet gateway must be publicly reachable and have IGD enabled. Again, RECAM doesn’t use centralized backend services—it’s edge computing—so you’ll need a compatible ISP
Both devices must be on iOS 16.3 or higher (please check the system version of your devices and update them if needed). Apple list all compatible devices iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 here.
CAST MODE CHECKLIST
This step is essential for WAN access to work properly.
Once these settings are correctly configured, RECAM will attempt to automatically establish the network routes between your streamer device and the first player.
- Access the web configuration interface of your Internet box or router.
- 👉 Enable UPnP IGD Port Mapping on your router or Internet gateway.
- 👉 Request a fixed (static) IP address from your internet service provider (ISP), and make sure it’s assigned specifically to your router.
DATA STORAGE
- All live video streams in RECAM are strictly peer-to-peer and encrypted using the Secure Reliable Transport protocol. No live video passes through or is stored on RECAM servers.
- Video recordings are only created when an event is detected (e.g., motion, AI-based trigger) and are always stored locally on the streaming iPhone.
- Depending on your configuration, recordings may also be saved to:
- The device owner's private iCloud account
- A shared iCloud space if the streaming iPhone has been shared with another RECAM user via the app- RECAM servers do not access, view, or store any private content such as video, audio, or user recordings.
- The only data stored by RECAM servers is limited to operational metadata necessary to enable core app functions (e.g., device association, user labels).
RECAM PRO SUBSCRIPTION
RECAM Pro subscription is very simple and fair:
- Price: €1.99 per month.
- How it works: The subscription is tied to the iCloud account on your primary device.
- Cameras & accounts: Each camera can still use its own iCloud account if you wish.
- Sharing the plan: When a camera runs RECAM in CAST mode, its owner can share the same Pro plan with every RECAM in PLAYER mode.
- Bottom line: A single Pro subscription covers all of your players and any number of streamers—no extra plans required.
